There’s one catch for Australian collectors. Many of these ornaments need a power cord, and finding one with an Australian plug has not always been easy.

The cord you need

The Hallmark Keepsake Power Cord with an AU plug solves the problem. It’s officially and exclusively available through My Ornaments. The price is $25.00.

This cord is required for Hallmark’s interactive Storytellers collections. Without it, those ornaments stay silent.

What it powers

The cord powers up to 7 compatible ornaments or accessories at once. It’s about 210 cm long, which gives you room to run it through a tree. The cord is lead-free plastic, and instructions are included.

Check compatibility first

This part matters. The cord works only with Keepsake Power Cord ornaments from 2017 and newer.

Before you order, check the year on your ornaments. If you have older pieces, they won’t work with this cord. It’s a quick check, and it saves disappointment on decorating day.

Planning your setup

If you have more than seven compatible ornaments, you’ll need a second cord. Count your pieces before you buy.

I’d also suggest planning where your Storytellers ornaments will hang. Grouping them on one side of the tree keeps the cord tidy and close to a power point. Having a cord with a proper Australian plug also means no fiddling with travel adapters behind the tree.
